Spanning four stories across painted bookshelf tiers, the mural honors New England’s celebrated legacy of children's literature and illustration. It pays tribute to the regional and national artists exhibited by the gallery, featuring 30 recognizable storybook figures (such as Arthur, Paddington Bear, and Madeline) and 39 book titles published from the 1930s to the present day, along with a memorial dedication to illustrator Jerry Pinkney.
